Sundae Lesson

Here's a Sunday lesson about 'sundaes'!
My family meets with my parents & my sister's family for Family Home Evening each week---13 people all together!  I feel so fortunate that we get to meet together to share the week's events, updates on neighbors & cousins, and to listen to a short spiritual lesson.  Yep, I'm super lucky.

We rotate who hosts; whoever's house we meet at---they're in charge of the treat and lesson.

Considering we have 7 kids under the age of 8, we have to keep our Family Home Evening lessons pretty short.  Anything past 6 minutes and kids start leaving the room;)

My genius sister hosted last week and shared a super short (2 minute) instruction on how banana splits are layered like PRAYERS!
She started with the banana and related it to opening a prayer with "Heavenly Father".
Next she layered the ice cream which equals the "Thank Yous"---and pointed out that the bulk of your sundae SHOULD be thank yous'.
The fun toppings of hot fudge, caramel, sprinkles, & nut were compared to things we "ask" for.
And the cherry-on-top is closing the prayer in Jesus' name.

Seriously.  Two minutes.  And it made a big impact on the kids and adults.
Try it for your FHE!
