Easter Best

Here's the kids Easter outfits 2012.

I used Patty Young's ADORABLE 'addison' pattern for the girls' dresses....

I think this is the sweetest dress EVER! 

Any little princess would LOVE this over-the-top cute dress!

 Well, maybe not this baby princess...

but that's only because she can't crawl as fast in the voluminous fabric:)

 Big Brother even had a matching bow-tie!

I got the 'addison' ModKid pattern from Fashionable Fabrics---great online fabric store.

Mariposa Tee

I got the Mariposa Tee pattern (by Sew Liberated) last year 

and decided to try it out for Rae's "Spring Top Sewalong"!

What a fun & sassy top!

Not to mention INSANELY comfortable!

Perfect for summer:)

 I used two thrifted knits.  

Both are navy and white stripes, just different widths:)

One great thing about this pattern is the 'raw' edges...no hemming!

But all of the detail at the neckline make this top very polished.

 I don't know what it is about me and top-stitching, but I'm a BIG fan:)

 The back yoke is super cute:)

 I definitely can't wait until I can make another one of these 'fancy' t-shirts!

Orange Retro Blouse

Here's one of my entries for Rae's "Spring Top Sewalong"!

I found the NewLook pattern (#E6078) at my local WalMart and was totally drawn-in by 

the rounded collar and the feminine pintucks.

I found this heavy cotton @ JoAnns.  

I love the dainty floral combined with the vibrant orange:)

I believe it's part of their Lisette collection exclusively for JoAnns.

 When I finished this shirt, I loved the retro-housewife feel of it; 

so I ended up pairing it with my Grandma's round brooch.

 The original pattern had an awkward sleeve-length....hitting about 4" below my elbow?!

So I chopped them off, re-affixed, and add the elastic to gather the sleeve.

For me, this is a much more flattering look.

....I really should hit the gym....but I'd rather sew!

So tiny.  So sweet.   Such a great detail.

And below is a view of the back.

This is the first garment I've made with all of these darts and pleats!

It was a challenge, but I love the payoff!

Fitted, and flattering.

Ultimate Baby Gift

Lately this is my favorite baby gift to make and give:

a self-mitered baby blanket with ric-rac,

 a case to hold your diapers and wipes....

 burp cloth(s) ....

 and a pretty headband from the scraps:)

I think that sewing for babies is THE most fun, don't you?!!

Everything itty, bitty, & baby is my favorite:)
